Duration

  • Tour times vary depending on the group size assigned to you at check-in(max 16 per group).
  • Typically tour times range from 1 to 2 hours (Average of 1 hour and 20 minutes).

Check-In Time

  •  Must arrive 45 minutes before scheduled tour time for an efficient check-in and gearing up (Ex. Tour time: 11:00am Check-in time: 10:15am).
  • Tour begins within 5-10 mins after guests have checked-in at front desk.

Late Arrivals and Missed Tours

  • Late arrival and rescheduling fees apply in case of late check-in or a missed tour.

No Hand Braking

  • Embrace the thrill knowing there’s no need for hand braking. Our experienced guides will handle all braking, ensuring a safe and worry-free experience.

Non Participating Guests

  •  Will not be able to join tour either to accompany or spectate.

Age & Weight

  • Must be at least 5 years old(must weight at least 45lbs).
  • Ages 5 to 13 require a participating adult to accompany them on tour but can ride each zipline solo.
  • Max weight 275.

Clothing, Footwear and Hair

  • We recommend, for your comfort, pants or shorts that are at least knee-length since you will be in a full body harness.
  • Skirts, Dresses and Short shorts are not recommended.Strapped closed-toed shoes with a secured footing are recommended.
  • No Flip-flops and Non-sports mode Crocs.
  • Hair past shoulder length must be tied in a low ponytail (we recommend bringing a hair-tie).

Participant Form

  • Each person participating must fill out a waiver form.
  • Participants under 18 must have one filled out by an adult.
  • Waiver link available via email booking confirmation or phone texts.

Check-in Time

  • 45 Mins prior to tour time (Ex. Tour time: 11:00am, Check-in time: 10:15am)

Groups

  • Please note that for groups with multiple reservations under different names for the same time slot who wish to zip together, you should list all reservation names in the “Additional Information” section when you book online
  • Our tours can accommodate up to 16 people. If your group has more than 16 people, we will need to split it into two or more smaller groups.

Health

  • If you have a pre-existing or a recurring injury, you cannot participate.
  • If you recently had a major knee, back or leg surgeries, you cannot participate.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for a prolonged time of up to 2 hours and walk on even/uneven terrain; plus a few stairs up and down to the platforms.
  • Please inform our staff of any health issues, disabilities, or other concerns that might impair your ability to participate when making your reservation. You can do this over the phone or in the Additional Information section when booking online.

Under The Influence

  • Participants must not be under the influence of substances impairing judgement.

Expecting Mothers

  • Pregnant individuals cannot participate.

No Smoking

  • Any form of smoking not allowed on tour (Cigarettes, vapes, hookahs, pipes etc.).

You Can Bring

Comfortable Clothes

Dress according to the weather. Wear closed-toed shoes securely strapped to your feet. (Flip-flops are not allowed.) In colder seasons, opt for layers instead of bulky clothes; gloves and beanies (without pompom) are recommended for added comfort.

Glasses + Sunglasses

You can wear them, but we recommend using a strap to secure them.

Long Hair

If you have long hair, please bring a hair tie to secure it in a low ponytail as you’ll be wearing a helmet.

Necessary Medication

If you have medical conditions requiring Epi-pens, inhalers, etc., please inform our team about your condition.

GoPro Cameras

You can bring your own GoPro with a helmet mount for personal use. Wahoo Ziplines offers professional photo services, and also GoPro’s are available for rent.

You Cannot Bring

Clothing

Flip-flops, very short shorts, dresses, skirts, baggy clothes, swimsuits, backpacks, and pom beanies.

Dangling Jewelry

Leave hoop earrings, long necklaces, and similar items behind.

Unsecured Items

Do not bring phones, keys, water bottles, selfie sticks, photo/video cameras, etc. These are not allowed on the tour. Items must be securely stored in your car after check-in.

Valuables

Leave all valuables in the car. Car keys can be safely stored at the front desk.

How much time will it take to complete the tour?

Approximately 1 to 2 hours at Wahoo, depending on tour group sizes and the groups abilities.

Our course includes 6 separate lines. Each line ranges from 40 feet for the lowest up to 250 feet for the tallest. The total length is approximately 2 miles.

How do I reserve a tour?

Making a reservation is very easy. Book online or call us at (865) 366-1111 and our friendly staff will guide you through the process and answer all your questions.

How many people can be in a tour?

Our tours can accommodate up to 16 people. If your group has more than 16 people, we will need to split it into two or more smaller groups.

Why do I need to be 45 minutes early?

It is VERY IMPORTANT TO BE 45 MINUTES EARLY for your scheduled tour time. During this time you will need to check in, place your valuables in your car, get geared up, and receive instructions and information about ziplining.

What if I will be late?

Please pay close attention to your assigned zipline tour time as latecomers cannot join the group already in progress. Keep in mind that you will need to be at the office 45 minutes earlier. No refunds will be offered for latecomers as spaces are limited and zipline guests have been turned away for your spot.

Traffic in the area can be bad sometimes, especially in the busy season (late spring-summer-early fall). Please prepare ahead to get in time for your zipline tour.

In certain areas, you will experience a lack of service for your mobile device. If you are not familiar with the area, we recommend that you download an area map (ex: Google Maps)

What if I get lost?

What happens if it rains/snows?

Mountain weather can be unpredictable, but we do operate in rain, snow, or shine. Rarely must tours be canceled due to inclement weather so please dress appropriately. We will not cancel tours due to cold or mildly rainy weather. However, we reserve the right to postpone (or pause) a tour for up to one hour to wait out inclement weather and then resume the zipline tour.

What will happen if severe weather occurs on tour?

Management reserves the right to cancel tours due to unsafe weather conditions, such as heavy winds, heavy rain, and potential thunderstorms. Each platform has a roof where participants can wait safely in the event weather conditions change quickly. If you are on tour, and management decides to cancel the tour, your entire group will be evacuated in a safe manner and escorted to the office. Depending on how far you made it through the course, we can reschedule or partially refund you.

Can I wear sunglasses or glasses?

YES. As long there are not too loose on your head or fall off when you look down. We recommend having a strap. We are not responsible for any lost items.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

YES. All patrons will need to sign a participant form. A parent or legal guardian must sign for any minor children under the age of 18.

Is ziplining safe?

It’s important to be aware of the risks involved in every outdoor adventure, and ziplining is not without its risks. Ziplining is an extreme sport and, as such, has particular risks that will always be associated with it. With that being said, your guide has undergone extensive training to ensure your safety. In addition to highly-trained guides, Wahoo Ziplines also only uses top-of-the-line equipment. You are in good hands!

Can I watch zipliners if I do not participate?

Unfortunately, you cannot. Our six-lined course is stretched through a hardy forest at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and is not visible to spectators.

Do you have bathrooms?

YES. We have bathrooms at the check-in area; however, there are none on the tour. We recommend using the restroom prior to being put in your harness.

How I can reschedule my reservation?

You can independently reschedule your booking up to 24 hours in advance directly from your confirmation email. However, for any other modifications, please contact our office daily between 9 am and 6 pm.

Rescheduling Fees:

First Reschedule (Before 6 pm the Day Before): Complimentary, subject to availability.
Second Time and Subsequent Changes (Before 6 pm the Day Before): $5/participant fee.
Same-Day Rescheduling: $10/participant fee.

What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?

We recognize that plans may change, and we aim to accommodate cancellations with clear guidelines. Please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy:

Full Refund (48 Hours in Advance):
– Cancel 48 hours or more before your scheduled tour to receive a full refund.

$20 Fee per Participant (Between 48 Hours and 6 pm the Day Before):
– For cancellations made between 48 hours and 6 pm the day before the scheduled activity, a $20 fee per participant will be applied. After deducting this fee, the remaining balance will be refunded to the original form of payment. Please contact us at 865-366-1111 to process your cancellation.

No Refund (After 6 pm the Day Before or No-Shows):
– Cancellations after 6 pm the day before your scheduled tour or “no-shows” are not eligible for a refund.

Do I get a refund if my tour is canceled due to weather?

If a tour is canceled due to inclement weather we will reschedule as close to the original time and date as possible. In case your schedule does not allow you to return, we do offer two alternatives: a raincheck or a refund (cash, credit) depending on your form of payment.

If you have completed part of the tour and the course must be closed due to inclement weather, the cost of the tour will be prorated, depending on how far you get on the course. What matters most is that our guests have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Will I need to stop myself on the zipline?

NO. Our system is speed regulated, meaning that you will not have to touch the cable to stop yourself. Our well-trained guides will stop you at the end of each line, disconnect you from the zipline, and guide you to the observation area to watch your group zip.

Is there an obstacle course or suspended bridges?

NO. Wahoo Ziplines doesn’t have suspended bridges or obstacle courses on the zipline tour.

Do I need to walk between the lines?

YES. There is mild walking between the platforms roughly 50 yards with a steeper incline from lines 4 to 5.

Do I need to climb stairs?

YES. There are some stairs to go up and down at each zipline tower/platform.

Do I need to bring water on tour?

NO. Bottled water will be provided before line 5 while taking a 5-minute brake.

What if I am afraid of heights?

It is common among our patrons. We have a very well-trained and certified guide staff that will work with you to ease your fears and make sure that you have an enjoyable time! 99.99% of our guests who zip across the first line conquer this fear and are eager to do more. Can I bring a backpack?

Unfortunately, you CANNOT bring a backpack, purse, camera, or any loose items with you on tour. If you need special medication on tour, please inform our staff when you check in or when you reserve your tour.

Can I bring a camera?

Cameras, camcorders, phones, or any loose items are NOT allowed. If dropped when ziplining, items will be lost forever. Also, this requirement is for your safety and our personnel’s safety. We are not responsible for any lost items during your visit to Wahoo Ziplines.

You can bring a GoPro as long as you have a helmet mount. Wahoo Ziplines have GoPro-ready helmets.

Wahoo Zipline provides GoPro rentals and also takes professional photos of all the guests.

Do I need to tip my guides?

Tips are optional, but greatly appreciated!

How much should I tip my guides?

Guiding is a service industry, so we would suggest tipping 10-20% of the total cost of your trip.

Weight
